Yet again another brilliant episode! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Yep, me too. So far, this series hasn't put a foot wrong.

Long before you and I were born, others beat these benches with their empty cups,
To the night and its stars, to the here and now with who we are.

Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

It was my first time watching this, and I found that I didn't really enjoy it. This came as quite a surprise to me, as I love the old 60s stories--Troughton ones in particular--and it's hard to go wrong with a classic Dalek story. But there was something about this one, it was just so plodding in pace, so banal in dialogue and guest acting, that I had a hard time even paying attention.

And for me, at least, I found the animation jarring in some level. It was very reminiscent of the Adam Reed/Jon Benjamin cartoon Archer, which works for that show because it's trying to do a comedic emulation of the 60s. But here in this story, where they were trying to actually recreate the 60s, it just didn't feel right. Maybe it's something stupidly simple, like it's because I watched the colour version, when I'm used to my Troughton stories being B&W? I don't know.

I've always enjoyed the atmosphere of the story, but there are no likable characters to get attached to, the Doctor is still a complete enigma and Ben and Polly aren't exactly the strongest companions.

Watched Oxygen this afternoon. This has been a very solid series.
