All of Children of Earth. Such a phenomenal set of episodes. The tension and drama builds beautifully, and then positively wrenches toward the end. Clem, Ianto, Frobisher's sacrifice, the troops rounding up kids and the 'people's uprising' in Ianto's sister's neighbourhood, Jack's sacrifice....gah. I'm not one to let TV impact me negatively, but Children of Earth absolutely guts me.
This is probably RTD's finest contribution to nuWho--which is saying something, considering he's in no small part responsible for there being a nuWho at all."A society grows great when old men plant trees, the shade of which they know they will never sit in. Good people do things for other people. That's it, the end." -- Penelope Wilton in Ricky Gervais's After Life
