    Crossing Time Lines

How is it that Doctor Who travels through time, but says that he cannot cross his own timeline? From what I have read, the moment that the TARDIS touches down where ever he goes, the timeline starts there. He went to early Pompeii and has went to the end of the Universe in "Utopia", so wouldn't going to any date between Pompeii and Utopia be crossing his timeline?

Or is it that every time he touches down there is a different timeline started? If so, wouldn't that mean that a new parallel universe is created every time he uses the TARDIS? Maybe I misunderstand this, can anyone explain it?

It's not crossing your own timeline if you don't bump into yourself.

Wait what time line are you talking about? The Doctor's or what?

I originally wrote a big long paragraph about his time line but now I don't know which time line your talking about.
