It is a dilemma. As you know, in the run up to the 50th anniversary I did a watch / listening of every story prior to The Day of the Doctor but I'd been using the recons over on Dailymotion. I don't feel like anything has actually been taken away from me because I know that if anything missing was discovered, the recons really haven't spoiled anything. From my own experience, even though I knew the ins and outs of the recently recovered The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear, the telesnaps and the audios really don't do the visual any justice. They're a good substitute but I don't think they spoiled the stories for me. I think that's because that audio tends to slip away from my memory a lot quicker unlike visual material and so I still felt like I was discovering both of them for the very first time.
