T ~ Terileptils appeared in the Fifth Doctor serial The Visitation by Eric Saward. They are a reptilian humanoid species, they cannot survive long without breathing soliton gas, which is highly combustible when combined with oxygen. As an advanced society, they enjoy a heightened appreciation of both aesthetics and warfare, and have been known to employ bejeweled androids. Criminal punishment in Terileptil society includes life imprisonment working in tinclavic mines on the planet Raaga, often with sub-standard medical care.

U ~ Umbrella - The Seventh Doctor carried, from 'Delta and the Bannermen' onwards, an umbrella with a question-mark shaped handle. He had ceased using it by the time of his last appearance in the Doctor Who television movie. The Sixth Doctor occasionally carried a different umbrella, a multicolored model with a straight handle. This was destroyed in the Seventh Doctor's first story, 'Time and the Rani'. The first time the Doctor is seen on screen with an umbrella (a simple black one), is in the Second Doctor serial 'The Krotons'.

V ~ Vashta Nerada (literally: the shadows that melt the flesh) are microscopic swarm creatures which, when present in a high enough concentration, are totally indistinguishable from shadows, and use this to their advantage in approaching and attacking prey. They are described as the "piranhas of the air", able to strip their victims to the bone in an instant in high enough densities. The Doctor says that almost every planet in the universe has some, including Earth, and claims that they can be seen as the specks of dust visible in unusually bright light. On most planets, however, Vashta Nerada exist in relatively low concentrations, and are carrion eaters (on Earth, Vashta Nerada are said to subsist largely on roadkill), with attacks on people being comparatively rare (although the Doctor does attribute the seemingly irrational fear of darkness common to many species as a perfectly rational fear of the Vashta Nerada).

W ~ Warpstar - A small crystalline device carried by Sarah Jane Smith in 'Journey's End' that looks like a necklace, but is in fact a highly explosive device (a "Warp-fold conjugation") inside a carbonised shell. According to Sarah Jane, it was given to her by a Verran soothsayer to be used at "the end of days". Jack Harkness wires it into the Dalek Crucible's mainframe and threatens to use it; however, he does not get the opportunity as the Daleks swiftly transmat Jack, Sarah Jane, and their companions away.

X ~ Xeraphin were an ancient species encountered by the Fifth Doctor in the story Time-Flight by Peter Grimwade. Originating from the planet Xeriphas, they possessed immense psychokinetic and scientific powers. The Doctor believed the race to have been wiped out during the crossfire during the Vardon/Kosnax war. Instead, the entire race fled to Earth in an escaping spacecraft. The ship crashed near present day Heathrow some 140 million years ago. When the Xeraphin emerged they built a Citadel to mark their new home but the Xeraphin were so plagued with radiation that they abandoned their original humanoid bodies and transformed into a single bioplasmic gestalt [disambiguation needed] intelligence within a sarcophagus at the heart of the Citadel.

Y ~ Yana, Professor - Professor Yana appeared to be a Human scientist, who was in reality an incarnation of the renegade Timelord known as the Master.

Just as John Smith had false memories concerning his early life, Yana's might have remembered false memories created when Yana came to existence. It can be said with some degree of certainty that at least 17 years of Yana's memories prior to Utopia are real, as that is how long he had been with Chantho.

Physically Human, Yana was an orphan found on the coast of the Silver Devastation with only a fob watch, which in reality held the Timelord self of the Master. He could never keep time and was always late for things. He spent his life moving from one refugee ship to another and all his life he heard the sound of drums every waking hour as if they were getting closer.

In actuality, as the Doctor had done, he had subsumed his identity into that of a human form and locked his actual Timelord identity into the fob watch. As the Master later observed, this disguise was so perfect that he forgot who he was, although Yana was plagued by half-remembered fragments of his former life (a fallout of the fob watch) and terrible headaches in which he heard the beat of drums (which had been harassing the Master's mind since he stared directly at the Time Vortex, at Gallifrey). Yana retained the Master's brilliant intellect and ultimately became responsible for sending the remnants of Humanity to Utopia.

He eventually became friends with the last of Malmooth race, scientist Chantho, thought to be the last of her kind. Together, they worked on the Utopia Project to get the humans from the planet Malcassairo to Utopia.

Yana met the Doctor and Martha Jones who said phrases curiously familiar to him, phrases such as Time Vortex, Time War and regeneration. Martha made the Professor suspicious of a watch in his possession, so that, hearing voices in his mind that commanded and entreated him; he activated the device and returned to his true identity.

As the Master, he let down the defences allowing the Futurekind in and dismantled the components, which allowed the system for the rocket to start up in the first place. Chantho held him at gunpoint. The Master grabbed the loose end of the live electrical cable and first threatened and then fatally attacked her, incidentally killing the last of the Malmooth.

As the Master grabbed the Doctor's hand, which Jack Harkness had brought to Malcassario, the dying Chantho managed to shoot him before she died herself. The Master stumbled into the Doctor's TARDIS with the hand, locked the door with a deadlock seal and regenerated.

The name Yana is thought to be an acronym of "You Are Not Alone", a reference to the Face of Boe's dying words.

Z ~ Zarbi appeared in the 1965 First Doctor story The Web Planet written by Bill Strutton, and are an (ant-like) insectoid species, with some characteristics associated with beetles, from the planet Vortis, which were controlled by the power of the Animus. They are roughly eight feet long, and the Menoptra claim, perhaps a little callously, that they are "little more than cattle".

A ~ Anti-Regeneration Gun - In 'Last of the Time Lords', Martha Jones claims that the Torchwood Institute and U.N.I.T. created a gun and four phials of coloured chemicals, which, when slotted into the gun and injected into a Time Lord, will kill the Time Lord and prevent a regeneration. After the Master destroys the gun with his laser screwdriver, Martha reveals that the weapon is a fake, a ruse to conceal her actual mission and to engineer her return to the Valiant.

B ~ Blathereen - A Raxacoricofallapatorian family who are the sworn enemies of the Slitheen family, and have infiltrated the prison on the planet Justicia.

C ~ Crystal of Kronos - From the Third Doctor serial 'The Time Monster', this is used by the Master to power his TOMTIT machine, but turns out to be something much more powerful.

D ~ Demons have appeared in Doctor Who several times. Originally in Third Doctor serial The Dæmons, in which they were specifically aliens from the planet Dæmos who had come to Earth in the distant past and ingrained their existence as myth, with "demon" Azal summoned at the Master's will.

In 2006, both the Tenth Doctor series of Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood expanded upon a notion of actual malicious supernatural entities existing in the Doctor Who universe. "The Impossible Planet" introduced the Beast, a Satan-like demon remaining from the universe before our own, sealed away in planet Krop Tor by the "Disciples of Light". Later, the Torchwood episode "End of Days"', the mysterious Bilis Manger frees "Abaddon, son of the great Beast" from within the Rift, where he like the Beast had been imprisoned since "before time". Earlier in the first series of Torchwood, demonic supernatural entities, referred to by humans as "fairies", were established in "Small Worlds" as a non-alien presence on Earth since before mankind came to exist.

E ~ Eye of Harmony - The Eye of Harmony is an artificially-created black hole made by Omega used by the Time Lords as a power source for time travel.

F ~ Family of Blood are a family who appear in the Series 3 episodes "Human Nature" and "The Family of Blood" (2007) in which they are the titular entity. They are incorporeal, green telepathic creatures and refer to each other by their relationship followed by "of Mine"; "Father/Husband of Mine", "Mother/Wife of Mine", "Son/Brother of Mine" (who appears to assume leadership) and "Sister/Daughter of Mine". Because of their lack of form, they required a physical body to inhabit; they only had short lifespans without them and as such, sought that of a Time Lord. They had a time vortex manipulator allowing them to time travel. Their spaceship was stolen and was protected by an invisible shield. They could also animate different things for servants — in the case of their 1913 invasion of Earth, scarecrows — using "molecular fringe animation". They also possess hand-held energy firearms capable of disintegrating flesh and cloth - on the Doctor Who official website it is referred to as a "Bio-gun".

Ultimately, when trying to gain the immortality of the Time Lords, they pursued the last Time Lord: the Tenth Doctor, who chose to alter his biodata to become a human schoolteacher in England, 1913 until their lifespans expired. When he was finally tracked down in human form, the Family possessed the forms of four humans; Mr. Clark, a farmer, Jeremy Baines, a school prefect, Lucy Cartwright, a small girl holding a balloon and Jenny, a maid at the school. The original souls of the beings were killed, the original bodies only existing as vessels for the Family, and the Family attacked first a village dance and then the school to claim the Doctor. The Family's starship was eventually destroyed by the Doctor once his human persona was convinced to reassume his Time Lord configuration. It was learnt at this point why the Doctor chose to run from the Family; not out of fear but rather as an act of mercy; something the Doctor had now run out of. Each of the Family were trapped for all of time, an irony considering that they sought immortality. "Father of Mine" was tied up in unbreakable chains forged from dwarf star metal, "Mother of Mine" was trapped on the event horizon of a collapsing galaxy, "Son of Mine" was frozen in time and dressed as a Scarecrow, left in the fields to watch over England as its protector, and "Sister of Mine" was trapped inside every mirror and unable to leave, still able to be glimpsed fleetingly by humans. "Son of Mine" mentions that the Doctor visits the sister once every year, and he wishes that the Doctor may forgive her in time.

G ~ Genesis Ark - A Dalek-shaped prison ship created by the Time Lords to store millions of captured Daleks, introduced in 'Doomsday'. Like the TARDIS, it is bigger on the inside, containing millions of prisoners yet being only large enough to release one Dalek at a time. It is sucked into the Void after the Doctor opens the breach.

H ~ Huon particles Ancient particles from the Dark Times, created independently by Time Lords and later the Torchwood Institute. They are potentially deadly and contain a great amount of energy. Huon particles will magnetise with other sets of Huon particles, causing people to inadvertently teleport. A remnant of them exists in the heart of the TARDIS.
