Weeping Angels - Weeping Angels are a humanoid quantum-locked species. They are quantum-locked due to their highly unique nature which requires them to cover their faces with their hands to stop themselves from becoming trapping in a petrified form for all eternity should they look upon each other.

Weeping Angels fed on the temporal life energy of other species by sending them back to a time before they were even born to live out the rest of their days. The Doctor and his then companion Martha Jones nearly succumbed to this fate but were rescued when the TARDIS was sent back in time from 2008 to pick them up.

The Doctor's friends and extended family Amy Pond and her husband Rory Williams were not so fortunate when they got sent back in time by a lone surviving Weeping Angel and they lived out the rest of their days in New York together until they passed away in their 80's. Due to all the temporal paradoxes floating around New York due to the Weeping Angels' interference, the Doctor was unable to go back in time to rescue them.

The Weeping Angels have appeared in the following stories of Doctor Who:
    1. 29.08 - Blink
    2. 31.04 - The Time of Angels
    3. 33.05 - The Angels Take Manhattan

Think we might be getting a wee bit confused with the Last Letter Game here. I know I was.

Benton, John - Benton was a member of U.N.I.T. As a Corporal, he was present when the Cybermen attempted to invade in 1969.

A year later he had been promoted to Sergeant and over the next 5-years he would find himself helping to fight many alien incursions from Autons and the Nestene Consciousness to Axons to Daleks and stopping the renegade Time Lord known as the Master from bringing down Earth if he could not rule it.

In 1974, Benton was promoted to Warrant Officer 1st Class and the position of Regimental Sergeant Major.

In 1976, Benton apparently left U.N.I.T. and became a second hand car salesman.

By 1986, Benton had apparently rejoined U.N.I.T. and became a commissioned officer. He held the rank of Lieutenant as he led a team to the South Pole to assist in clearing up the remnants of the Cybermen when they died after their home planet Mondas was destroyed.

John Benton appeared in the following Doctor Who stories:
                  1. 06.03 - The Invasion
                  2. 07.03 - The Ambassadors of Death

                  6. 08.03 - The Claws of Axos
                  7. 08.05 - The Dæmons
                  8. 09.01 - Day of the Daleks

Destiny of the Daleks - Opening story of the 17th series of Doctor Who. It stars Tom Baker as "The Doctor" and Lalla Ward as "Romana".

                        Synopsis
                        ----------
Accompanied by the newly regenerated Romana, the Doctor lands on a mystery planet intrigued by the evidence of drilling taking place there, deep underground.

The discoveries he makes are chilling. For the planet is Skaro and the Daleks are in charge of the operation. But just what are his old enemies searching for? And why?

Perhaps the answers lie with the Movellans, a beautiful humanoid race led by Commander Sharrel. They are waging a war of their own with the Daleks and the situation is now stalemate. Should the Doctor tip the balance of power to aid the Daleks' ultimate destruction? Or are their intentions no less sinister than the Daleks' themselves?

Suddenly the Doctor finds himself enmeshed in a deadly battle which could result in the destruction of the universe itself as, once more, he summons the strength to face an all too familiar, timelessly evil adversary.

                        Trivia
                        ------
                        • Lalla Ward's first appearance as Romana but not her first appearance in Doctor Who. She had appeared in the previous series' finale story The Armageddon Factor as Princess Astra of Atrios. After the previous actress, the late Mary Tamm, decided not to return for another series, Ms. Tamm recommended Ms. Ward to take over from her after they both worked together so well in The Armageddon Factor.

                        • The reason for Romana's second incarnation looking so much like Astra is because Romana says she simply liked the princess' body and so decided to copy it.

                        • Unlike the Doctor, Romana seems to have greater control over her regeneration as she tries on several bodies before settling on the 'Princess Astra' model.

                        • Second appearance of Davros. He has last been seen in the series 12 story Genesis of the Daleks.

                        • First and only appearance of the Movellans, however they would play a part in absentia in the series 21 story Resurrection of the Daleks.

I'm going to get this game back on track with a SENSIBLE "F" for this:

Fires of Vulcan, The - Big Finish Productions audio adventure starring Sylvester McCoy as "The Doctor" and Bonnie Langford as "Mel Bush".

                              Synopsis
                              ----------
On 24th August 79AD, a cataclysmic volcanic eruption wiped the Roman city of Pompeii from the face of the Earth. It also buried the Doctor's TARDIS...

Arriving in Pompeii one day before the disaster, the Doctor and Mel find themselves separated from their ship and entangled in local politics. With time running out, they fight to escape from the shadow of Mount Vesuvius. But how can they succeed when history itself is working against them?

                              Trivia
                              ------
                              • This audio story takes place at exactly the same time as the 2008 TV story The Fires of Pompeii meaning that the Doctor's seventh and tenth incarnations were both present during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius but managed to avoid meeting each other.
