I have been wondering if that name which is where the Tardis was located in the first ep of Dr Who., could be a statement. the Doctor always had a soft spot for earth. Could the name stand for "I am for man"? Probably not, but it was just a thought.

Jackson, Ben - Ben Jackson is a friend and former companion of the Doctor. He originated from Earth in the year 1966. He was an Able Seaman in the Merchant Navy. After befriending secretary Polly Wright and the Doctor's companion Dodo Chaplet, Ben quickly found himself becoming involved in an incident which would later be referred to as "The C-Day Fiasco". He helped the Doctor defeat the sentient computer WOTAN. Along with Polly, they told the Doctor that Dodo had decided to remain on Earth to recover from her encounter with WOTAN. Just as the Doctor prepared to leave in the TARDIS, Ben and Polly used Dodo's spare key to get in and unwittingly became the Doctor's new companions.

After defeating the Cybermen, Ben and Polly were present when the Doctor regenerated for the first time. Although Polly didn't doubt the new, younger man was the Doctor, Ben did. It wasn't until he saved an Earth colony on the planet Vulcan and defeated the Daleks that he finally believed the new man was the Doctor.

Ben, Polly, and the Doctor were joined in the travels by the Scottish Highlander Jamie McCrimmon. This TARDIS team continued together for many adventures until after materialising at Heathrow Airport and defeating the Chameleons that Ben and Polly realised that they had arrived on the exact day they originally left with the Doctor and they parted ways.

The Doctor's friend and a former companion, Sarah Jane Smith, did research and discovered that Ben and Polly were running an orphanage in India.

Mission to the Unknown - 1965 episode from the 3rd series of Doctor Who. It is, to date, the one and only episode to not feature the Doctor, companions, or the TARDIS.

It features the Daleks, introduces the Space Security Service, and the leaders of various races of aliens who will feature in the story The Daleks' Master Plan that this episode acts as a prelude to.

              Synopsis
              ----------
In the year 3999 on the planet Kembel, stranded Space Security Service agents discover Daleks conspiring with various races who're planning a joint conquest of the Solar System. Will the Agents manage to send out a warning in time before the Daleks can find and exterminate them or before being attacked and transformed by the vicious Varga plants?

Nanogenes - Nanotechnological robots which can heal damaged tissue. They are Chula technology, seen in "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances". The nanogenes are designed to heal soldiers and ready them for battle, making them Om-com capable. Without a complete template for a species, the nanogenes restored the Jamie with a gas mask fused to his face, and replicate the gas mask and Jamie's other injuries to anyone Jamie touched.

Who are the mysterious humans from the distant future now living in that distant past? What hideous monsters are trying to escape from behind the Grey Door? Is Rose going to end up married to a caveman?

Caught between three very different types of human being -- past, present and future -- the Doctor, Rose and Jack must learn the truth behind the Osterberg experiment before the monstrous Hy-Bractors escape to change humanity's history forever...

Question Marks - Nearing the end of his fourth life, the Doctor began to have a fondness for the question mark punctuation and so began to wear it on his shirt collar. This continued into his fifth and sixth incarnations. The Doctor's fifth incarnation wore trouser braces with question marks symbols on them and even after regenerating, his sixth incarnation continued to use them.

In his seventh incarnation, he stopped wearing shirts with question marks on the collars and instead wore a knitted pullover with the symbol all over it and even carried an umbrella with a handle in the shape of a question mark. He did stop wearing the trouser braces with the question marks on them as favoured by his previous two incarnations and wore simple red or grey braces.

Nearing the end of his seventh life, the Doctor had decided to stop displaying question marks on his clothing and the items he carried and so far this decision has continued through to his eleventh incarnation.

Void Ship - A vessel capable of travelling in the void, the area between dimensions outside of time and space. The Doctor expresses surprise at encountering one, saying, "I thought it was just a theory," and so such technology was presumably beyond the Time Lords. However, the Cult of Skaro—a secret order of Daleks—manage to obtain one, and thus survive the Time War with the Time Lord prison ship referred to as the Genesis Ark. The Void Ship is a dark brown sphere which gives off a great deal of light when opened. Torchwood claim to be interested in it as it is undetectable by any means apart from seeing it in front of you; for example, it gives off no heat and is not affected by gravity. It is possible that these properties allow it to survive the void.
