K ~ Kaled - Kaleds were one of the two humanoid (or three, counting the Mutos) races which originally inhabited the planet Skaro (the other being the Thals). "Kaled" is an anagram of "Dalek".

Kaleds looked identical to Humans and Thals, except that unlike the Thals, they had dark rather than blond hair. Kaleds can be distinguished from Humans by their blood. Tests by Kaled doctors showed that Humans and Gallifreyans were biologically very dissimilar to them, apart from external appearance. Internally, Kaleds have purplish tissue and their ribs are more widely spaced than those of a Human.

The Kaleds lived on the same planet as the Thals and eventually fought the Thousand Year War with them.

Near the end of the war, Davros started to study the effects from the radiation on the native life on Skaro. He eventually concluded that the preferable result of these mutations would be the Daleks. In order to achieve this eventual outcome, he gave the means to destroy the Kaled city to the Thals. In "retaliation" for the destruction of the base, Davros ordered the creation of the first Dalek army, which he sent to destroy the Thals. Though the other Kaleds objected to this decision, Davros’ Daleks killed them as well. Eventually, the Daleks rebelled against Davros and were then trapped under the Kaled bunker by the Doctor.

O ~ Operation Blue Sky - Operation Blue Sky was an operation headed by UNIT that took place in London in the year 2009. The operation was a raid on the London headquarters of the company ATMOS in order discover whether or not the company was guilty of harbouring illegal aliens. The operation was coordinated by Dr. Martha Jones. The operation ended with an absolute victory for UNIT resulting in them taking over the company's factory and using it as a base. The ATMOS staff didn't attack or resist arrest.
Before long, however, the Sontarans retook the factory, followed a short while later by UNIT attacking again with the help of the Valiant.

Q ~ Quark - Quarks were the robot slaves of the Dominators' galactic empire also known to have conquered worlds on their own.

Quarks were originally the robot servants of the Near-Human Dominators. The Doctor and his companions Jamie McCrimmon and Zoe Heriot first encountered them on Dulkis. Among other tasks, they operated drills for the Dominators. Other accounts show the Quarks working alone, without reference to the Dominators.

The Quarks attempted to invade Earth several time, once in 1971 when they caused the Quarks caused the Martha series of robots, which were invented by the Doctor to do housework, to turn against humanity as a prelude to their invasion. And in the later part of the 20th century, led by Dominators they invaded Earth secretly and came up against UNIT. In 2044, the Quarks arrived on the planet Hekton to kill the Doctor, but were defeated by the Human colonists and in 2053, a Quark pursued the Doctor when he participated in an automobile race on Earth.

T ~ Telos - Telos is an arid and mountainous planet, with little sign of vegetation. Beneath its surface, however, are the legendary tombs of the Cybermen. The planet was featured in the serials 'The Tomb of the Cybermen' and 'Attack of the Cybermen'.

Telos was originally covered entirely in ice, and inhabited by the Cryons, humanoids who could survive only in the cold. As temperatures rose, the Cryons were forced underground, building giant refrigerated cities as shelter. When the Cybermen entered the Telos system, they took over the planet, using the cities as cryogenic facilities.

The Cybermen disappeared sometime in the 21st century, following defeats around human-occupied space. Although the rest of the galaxy presumed them to have died out, they had, in reality, retreated into hibernation in the tombs of Telos to await discovery and reactivation.

Sometime around the 25th century, a team of archeologists, led by Professor Parry and financed by the Brotherhood of Logicians, embarked on an expedition to Telos, believing it to be the Cyberman homeworld and hoping to discover artefacts amongst its ruins. No Cryons were encountered during these events and it is not known what the Cryons were doing during the Cybermen's long sleep.

Uncovering the entrance to the tombs, Eric Klieg of the Brotherhood brought the Cybermen out of hibernation in an attempt to ally the Brotherhood with them. However, the Cybermen were intent on converting all of the expedition and once more begin their expansion. The Second Doctor and companions Jamie McCrimmon and Victoria Waterfield were on hand to help the survivors of the expedition escape the tombs and then reseal them.

However, this respite was short-lived, as by the 26th century the Cybermen had once again developed into a galactic threat. When the Sixth Doctor arrived on Telos inside the tombs, the Cyber Controller captured and imprisoned him in a refrigeration chamber. There, he met Flast, the leader of a Cryon rebellion against the Cybermen, who revealed the presence of stores of vastial in the chamber, an unstable mineral that became explosive at temperatures above 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a sonic lance, they ignited the vastial, destroying the Cyber Control. With the Cybermen destroyed, the Cryons regained their planet.

V ~ 'Vengeance on Varos' - First broadcast in two weekly parts from January 19 to January 26, 1985.

The Doctor visits the planet Varos to obtain supplies of a rare ore called zeiton 7, vital to the functioning of the TARDIS. Varos was once a colony for the criminally insane and the descendants of the original guards still rule, while the poverty-stricken people are kept entertained by screenings of public torture from the Punishment Dome.

Their Governor has been trying to negotiate a better export price for zeiton ore from Sil, an envoy of the Galatron Mining Corporation, whose reptilian body is supported and kept cool by a mobile water tank.

The Doctor and Peri meet two rebels, Jondar and Areta. Peri and Areta are captured and almost reshaped into beast-like creatures by Quillam, the Dome's sadistic commandant, but the Doctor saves them and tells the Governor the true value of zeiton 7.

Quillam and Varos's Chief Officer, who are in the pay of the Corporation, try to kill the Doctor and the Governor but are themselves despatched. Sil plans an invasion of Varos by a force from his home world, Thoros-Beta, but the Corporation veto this and instruct him to buy the zeiton ore at any price.

A strange creature forces its way into the TARDIS while the Doctor is searching for a way out of E-Space. It steers them to a white void occupied only by the ruins of an old building and a sinister spaceship.

The void is actually a gateway to the past and future, a cosmic mirror guarded by axe-wielding robots. And the creature that brought them here is Biroc, a Tharil, a race doomed to be hunted and enslaved. Biroc seeks freedom for his people, while the captain of the spaceship seeks escape from the alternative universe -- and will kill every Tharil he holds to break free.

The gateway offers the only exit, but the void is contracting. Are the Doctor and his friends fated to spend eternity in E-Space?

X ~ Xeraphin - The Xeraphin were an ancient species encountered by the Fifth Doctor in the story 'TimeFlight'. Originating from the planet Xeriphas, they possessed immense psychokinetic and scientific powers. The Doctor believed the race to have been wiped out during the crossfire during the Vardon/Kosnax war. Instead, the entire race fled to Earth in an escaping spacecraft. The ship crashed near present day Heathrow some 140 million years ago. When the Xeraphin emerged they built a Citadel to mark their new home but the Xeraphin were so plagued with radiation that they abandoned their original humanoid bodies and transformed into a single bioplasmic gestalt intelligence within a sarcophagus at the heart of the Citadel.

The arrival of the Master coincided with their emergence from the gestalt state when the radiation effects had subsided, and his influence caused the emergence of a split personality of good and evil, each side competing for their tremendous power while yearning to become a proper species once again. The Master, who was stranded on Earth at the time too, succeeded in capturing the Xeraphin as a new power source for his TARDIS. However, the Doctor's intervention meant his nemesis' TARDIS was sent to Xeriphas where events became out of his control.

Y ~ Yates, Mike - Captain Mike Yates worked for the British branch of UNIT. From 1971 to 1973 he was second-in-command to Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart.

Yates began as a sergeant in UNIT and was promoted to Captain at the end of an adventure involving Glasshouse and the Silurians. He was cool under fire, efficient, and both gave and carried out his orders with a minimum of fuss. Despite his somewhat aristocratic demeanor, he had a good rapport with his men, although he did claim that "rank hath its privileges".

The chain of events leading to Yate's retirement from UNIT started when, while undercover, he was hypnotized by the computer BOSS. The Doctor used the Metebelis crystal to break the mind control. Yates' brush with ecological disaster apparently made Yates very concerned about the future of the planet, and he was easily recruited by Sir Charles Grover into Grover's secret Operation Golden Age project, which would have reverted the whole of Earth permanently into prehistoic times. The conspiracy was thwarted by the Doctor, and in return for his past service to UNIT, the Brigadier allowed Yates to take medical leave and then quietly resign.

He decided to go to a Buddhist meditation centre to find solace. Here, he discovered strange events, which he reported to Sarah Jane Smith, since he felt that UNIT would consider him untrustworthy. Sarah communicated this back to the Doctor. Through it all, the Doctor still considered him an ally.
