TV licence???? We don't have those in Canada.

We can get various kinds of cable tv, which you subscribe to(basic, basic + packages or digital) or get satellite, which you subscribe to.

The only free tv would be what you can get without cable, and that's only a few local channels.

CBC and CBC-French are broadcast all over Canada as local free non-cable broadcasts, and as part of the basic cable package. CBC is partly government funded (directly from the general tax pool as opposed to a specific tax coming from a TV license that goes directly to the channel), and partly funded by advertisements. It isn't ad-free like BBC.

The BBC doesn't even offer online viewing!

They're offering an on-demand thing sometime later this year. Shows up to 7 days old I believe, after that you have to pay. No, that's 4oD ... Poop, I can't remember the details about the BBC's one.

Well, watched it, mostly. I sort of missed the beginning as I was watching the Season 10 DVD clips Gateworld just put up, but I had a feeling I would've been lost anyway since it was the second part of a 2-parter (I checked). Still, overall it was a pretty cool story. I liked the "Dalek-set" or whatever the mutant human cyclops was called. The human Daleks, or rather the only one that spoke was pretty cheesy indeed. I don't know...it just seems that the Doctor (or this version) was a little melodramatic, or perhaps David Tennant is just too intense for me.

Liked the music though, very nice.
