When talking with your friends (one of whom's a very devout Christian) and one starts talking about Hell and the "eternal flame pit" (her words), you point out that the pit itself isn't actually flaming or eternal, just very dark and long.

I was watching "The Impossible Planet" and "The Satan Pit" the other day before I talked to her. She gave me a "WTF?" look and I told her to go watch Doctor Who.
