Further to my previous post about Doctor Who and Futurama, it just occurred to me that in both shows Amy's boyfriend/fiancee/husband is initially a bit of a weed, who's just there for comedy value, dies, is resurrected, and eventually learns to stand up for himself.

You don't consider Grace Holloway a companion then? She did technically travel once in the tardis with the Doctor, although it was merely a few hours, and they did meet again for a couple of audio plays if I remember correctly.

She only appeared in one story and she was only ever mentioned in the BF audio plays. She hasn't actually appeared. The actress Daphne Ashbrook has appeared in BF audios but she's been playing different characters.

I'm not entirely certain but whilst out shopping earlier I think I saw the actor that played The Creature in The God Complex...Spencer Wilding. He was in the check out aisle just across from me and paying for his items.

I would have too...but as I say, in his check out aisle he was paying for his items and packing them whilst in my check out aisle I was three people behind and still waiting to pay for my items. By the time I was paying and packing my items he'd left the shop...IF it was indeed him. He certainly seemed tall enough to be Spencer Wilding.

well, that's a problem I never had so far, I never met any actor so far, just once Roger Federer, the tennis player, but as I am not really interested in tennis ...

Well I always figured that if I met an actor in a public place that I'd be very subtle with my recognition and try to save him or her from a big crowd gathering.
