    10th. BBC said so

    There's only us,
    There's only this
Forget regret, or life is yours to miss
    No other road,
    No other way
    No day but today...

10 of course. I did not watch Dr. Who since the beginning because I was born in 1974! But I was able to watch reruns I think on PBS when I was a kid. Now I have found my local library has some tapes so it's kind of cool to watch some of the first ones!

I think of him as the 10th doctor although I never watched Doctor Who before Christopher Eccleston and can't bear to watch the old episodes.

I'm still confused as to whether the 1996 TV movie counted or not. For many Americans, it was their first look at Dr. Who, but since it was horrible with it's continuity, I figured most U.K. fans would disregard it as non-canon. In that case, wouldn't most fans regard Tennant as Doctor #9 and disavow all knowledge of the TV movie as having ever existed (much the same way Star Trek fans disavow all knowledge of the fifth movie)?

Its canon, yes there are slips because it wasnt made by the BBC so continuity wasnt the priority (the priority was reviving the series), but they can all be explained with reletive ease (and a lot of presumtions).
Equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who is confronted with it.

Plus, the Doctor was played by Paul McGann who is just utterly gorgeous, so I'm happy to count him in.

Altough the producers of the show consider Tennant the 10th Doctor, I was wondering what you guys think. I personally think he's the 2nd Doctor.
He's already related things back to older series 'I was a father once...' etc.

So that makes him number 10.
