hmm it's a hard one. if it was a full 13 ep season i'd say yeah i'd love them in for a couple of eps or something, but since it's only five hours i want more of jack and ianto doing stuff out in the field

i think that if Martha and Mickey do join the team, one Martha already knows her way around the hub and around the team so they won't have to spend so much time training her... she can just dive right in and not get in the way... Mickey's biggest problem would be getting used to Mainframe and getting Mainframe used to him... she is after all a sentient system.... i remember in the first three novels, Ianto was always Tosh's backup when dealing with Mainframe, so that'll probably be his job.... Mickey may need some gun training but other than that, he too is ready to go in the field... after all he did spend half a year fighting cybermen... but as it is, i really don't see Mickey going out in the field too much... i think he'd rather be doing some sort of technical research than gallavanting out in the field.... which is not to say he wouldn't want to stretch his legs every now and then....but not only that, according to the Canary Wharf registray, he's dead... so if he doesn't join Torchwood, what's he gonna do? i mean the only reason he left with Jack and Martha is b/c there's nothing left for him with rose now that she has human!Ten..... and if Martha could have walked away from all the excitement, she never would have taken that job at UNIT... sure the Doctor wrote the recommendation, but she still didn't have to take the job....

i just think it would be easier on everyone if they joined instead of two noobs off the street... of course there's a chance that Jack might expand the team to more than just the five of them....
