That's a pretty 'action' trailer for a show that thrives on drama and suspense.

Finally starting to watch this show. After the rash of zombie movies a few years ago, I had my doubts about this one. So far, I'm pleasantly surprised.

That's a pretty 'action' trailer for a show that thrives on drama and suspense.

Well it's a trailer, they always cherry pick all the action out to make a quick and exciting 30 second trailer. They also have said that the second half of the season will ramp up the pace. Finally it's not like the show has no action in, it has plenty of action, every single episode has some sort of confrontation with zombies and they just ended the last episode with a several minute long sequence of gunning zombies down.

I'd argue the show uses action and drama to complement each other, so the drama makes us care about the characters and what's happening to them in the action scenes, and the action drives the drama, so we see the effect the zombie apocalypse actually has on the characters. This is what separates the Walking Dead from a lot of recent zombie stuff, which just use zombies as an excuse of B movie action without the audience caring about what's actually going on.

But anyway I'm there will be plenty of drama in the second half of season 2, but as I said, difficult to put that in a 30 second trailer, where as cars rolling over and shootouts look great when your trying to convince someone to watch a show in 30 seconds.
