Thanks. Made it a while back. I've been itching to be able to customize my av here, and I finally got to last night

What do ya guys think of this? It's my first attempt. I need to figure out how to get it to rotate, tweek some things, but I think I can get some milage out of this effect.

I've tried it before, with similar results. This tutorial was just a little easier.

Get your image, make 2 copies (trying to line them up as best as possible). Do your manipulations to each layer, put a rectangle frame in between them, and crop out the top layer.

I still haven't bothered to see what GIMP can do, so hopefully you can follow all that well enough to try.

This is really awesome warrior_chic I like how the attention is focused thanks to this picture in picture effect, and cool combination of b&w + colour

Thank you I made it as simple as possible, don't know if tut will be needed I just put this grungy texture on background layer, then added pic with Jared and just erased the unnecessary background from Jared pic

Heh,I may be slow sometimes to get how they are combined.
Btw did you add Jared layer as soft layer?

I'm sorry, sometimes it's hard for me to explain
No, the pic with him was only placed above the layer with background and with rubber (or black brush on layer mask) I got rid of the original background leaving only Jared. You can still see small remain of it on the right side, near his body, especially hand & head (this yellowish one).

This tut is just fine. I do not forsee any problems with following it.
