[( fyi, cooked apples in vegetable rice pilaf is not a good combination... esp if you don't like the sweetness of cooked fruit )]

I dunno - apple rice pilaf might be something I'd want to try out. I'm weird like that though.

i can't stand cooked fruit, unless it's really raw cooked fruit.... if the fruit's ripe when you cook it, forget it.... my dad, took a ripe gala apple, cut it in slices and popped them in the rice cooker with the rice.... it was the single most disgusting thing i have ever eaten... and i took a big bite b/c i thought it was a piece of potato.... almost upchucked right there at the table....

Ok, that sounds terrible. There's nothing worse than expecting something different than what you think a food is and eating it. Brain says NO! I can't eat blue cheese to this day because someone told me that it's just like Ranch dressing when I was 7. Not even close.
