gun-shot residue is mostly burnt powder... ever get the taste of burnt powder in your mouth? it's not a pleasant taste.... gun-shots usually leave residue not only on the weapon, but blow-back lands on the hands and clothes... not the mention the wound itself and the cloth surrounding the wound on the victim also gets covered in residue... you can even find cast-off from the bullet in the wound track.... all in all, i wouldn't use a gun to hunt for food...

Personally, I'm very partial to gunshot wounds. So I had my field day in Born Under a Bad Sign and Ius in Bello. And I came around to intubation. Never saw the attraction until In My Time of Dying - but that convinced me.
And of course the defibrillator is always a perk since they have to rip open the shirt...
