Sad but true. You also have to remember I'm a fan of the Republic Commando novels and of Kal Skirata in general. So I have a very personal view of the clones.
I tell you Teal'c, hockey is the coolest game on Earth!

Did you not say it is played on ice, O'Neill?

After much delay, I finally got around to watching "Citadel Rescue." I literally just finished about 5 minutes ago. That's what happens when you're called out on a tsunami emergency watch at 0400 and have to work a bunch of days afterward.

      Spoiler:
I found the episode to be a lot more engaging than the second one in the arc. I really like that they showed Ahsoka's prowess with the Jar'kai form of Shien. Her talent for quickness and fighting with two blades is really good to watch, especially since we've seen her developing her skills for the past 3 seasons.

The direction that Tarkin is going in makes a lot of sense, especially how his desire for victory is catching Palpatine's attention. The idea though that Vader acted as Tarkin's subordinate in episode IV is something I'm still confused about but at this point I'm just rolling with this.

I liked the design of the anoobas. Something across a wildebeest, a rhinoceros, and a wolf with a mean streak a mile wide. Swift and powerful, I loved how this episode made the use of pack animals because we're so used to high-tech tactics with Star Wars. Using a pack of anoobas was... refreshingly low-tech. Interesting that a Jedi Master could defeat droid after droid but fall to the jaws of an animal.

The space battle was some nice eye candy, though I truthfully wondered how a gunship and three light escorts weren't cut to pieces trying to run the blockade. All those droid fighters and high-end frigates... that's quite a gauntlet. Still though, a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.

So we have yet another break before the final episodes?

We do, unfortunately. The two-part finale airs Apr 1.

I know I can't wait for the finale. I am sad the season will be over, but I can't wait to see how they close out this season.

I'm excited for it too. The previews really have me intrigued!

I'm already looking forward to Season 4 like crazy too though. I've really been loving how this show has evolved and gotten more adult (as far as Star Wars goes) across the seasons. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us!

According to the episode guide, seems the guest star won't show up till the bottom half. Tis a shame. I was looking forward to that. Still, looks like they're going for a suitably epic finale with the large scale battle plus whatever Ahsoka is getting put through.

Oh really? I didn't realize that....

I guess we should be wary of spoilers. AFAIK part 1 of the finale aired tonight in the UK, and part 2 airs next week. While we over here wait for April 1

It did air in the UK, and it was a really enjoyable episode. There is something I really want to comment on, but I'll hold off until some of you accidentally trip, land on your keyboard and the episode just happens to end up on your computer.

Well, I am a weak, weak man, so comment away.

A couple thoughts of my own (3.21)
                    Spoiler:
Fellucia seems to be quite a flashpoint, doesn't it? I'm sure we've seen it before in this show, we see it again in this episode, and it's where Aayla Secura gets killed in Episode III.

The voice of the female Youngling, Kalifa...does anyone know who did it? I swear it sounds familiar, but I couldn't place it. And I found it sounded really out of place (ie too old) coming out of a Youngling.

I'm a little ambivalent about the portrayal of the Trandoshans in this one. I liked the whole Hirogen-esque angle, but I didn't care much for the way they were played as savage brutes.

                    An impaling! Ouch!

                      Spoiler:
It's the impaling and the clear shot through the Youngling's chest that I wanted to discuss, because I'm so used to falling on my keyboard and the US version magically appearing, that I didn't expect it to be so graphic with it clearly going through him.

It makes me want to try getting my hands on some of the UK episodes before they are released on DVD to see if there is a viewing standard difference between UK premium movie channel and US children's network. Like the guy from the Citadel arc who may or may not have been more gruesomely cut in half.

I would expect the US version to avoid the blast through the chest and cut instantly to the eyes. Was a great scene though, with the father screaming out in anger trying to kill them for it.

As for Kalifa, it was Gwendoline Yeo. I know her best as Paine from FFX-2 but in Star Wars, she did the shape shifter who helped steal the Jedi Holocron, the Gungan herder during the Naboo virus episode and one of the Kamino.

I thought it was great hearing Cam 'Liquid Snake' Clarke. I think this was his first Star Wars episode

                        Spoiler:
I doubt there are any differences between the two versions. This series hasn't been shy about lightsabers through the cut or murdering clones left and right, though admittedly killing a kid is rather dark.

What left me curious is just when and at what age these kids were kidnapped. Unless her species just matures faster, Ahsoka looks a lot older than they are.

Well, the kids there are just Younglings, while Ahsoka is a full-fledged Padawan. So she is a few years older and, as evidenced by her recent character model change, appears to be in puberty. Plus she's also a seasoned soldier at this point, so she comes off a lot more mature than the Younglings.

I think they'd all be proper Padawans, as I don't see any other reason why they'd be out in the field in order to be captured to begin with. In war, it would be easy to overlook Ashoka's disappearance as a casualty of war but if the others weren't assigned to the field to fight in the war, then they would be missed. So I wouldn't be surprised they were regarded as MIA Padawans from early stages of the war, with Ashoka being the most experienced and oldest.

I know they said they were younglings, but I seem to recall Ashoka being called youngling from to time after she was assigned to Anakin. I will admit I'm not too versed in the early Jedi ranks, but I never thought that you stopped being a youngling just because you became a Padawan. She became a Jedi Padawan, but is still a youngling/child.
