    Why does Kryptonite hurt

    just a small thing that has been bothering me, Clark is from Krypton and so is the element krytonite, so why does it have a bad effect on him whenever he is around it?
    I would figure that since his people grew up around it they would be okay with it.

    Because the radiation when mixed with the radiation from our sun causes him pain/to loose his inhibitions/believe people are against him/....
    The 360 is out in Aus and I'm playing

      he's a super capacitor. stores energy from the sun and releases it with his various powers. kryptonite radiation interferes with that process. painfully

        okay so that would seem a bit more possible witht he whole super capacitor thing, never really looked at it that way, just figured a few of his powers are quite impossible, you know like flying and stuff.
