I saw the nude bra when it aired first and my reaction was a bit different.

I thought: YAY! She's depicted wearing normal underwear, the kind of practical stuff you wear to work. Not the porn stuff you wear on a date. YAY for AT insisting that she be portrayed as an actual thinking adult woman.

If we were supposed to not see it and think she was nekkid, ok, but I was happy with my interpretation!

There are so many, it's like you can just peal back layer after layer and wonder if it's ever going to end.

I didn't know it did. Don't worry, I just fixed it.

So there you go, and Amanda said in the podcast she was in fact wearing clothes. I know Amanda doesn't like nude scenes, and she's made that clear so I can't see it happening on the show any time soon. She may wear some hot clothes but that's it. I trust Amanda, and I believe she'd never compromise.

But after watching it the second time and paying more attention... you can totally tell just by her expression that she thought she was going to be raped.

You two are dead on, if you looked at that link to the pics/caps I posted you can see in some of them she's so scared of what's happening to her that she feels she's going to be raped. I mean she has every reason to think it, the world has gone to hell, people seem to have lost their moral code, they've become uncivilized and Helen didn't know who they were or why they shot her.

God knows what was going through her mind, she must have been so scared that if she did think they were going to rape her, she may have been thinking, are they a rape gang? How bad will it be? Will they kill her afterwards? No women should EVER have to go through that, and be hosed down like it doesn't mean anything if your a human being. And like I said before, it was every bit as disrespectful and degrading, but it was rape without the sex. (((Helen)))

Here's a question, how do you think she felt when it was all over?

        (((Helen)))

humiliated and degraded, and probably afraid she was going to be killed.

i'm sure she realized at the very end, she wasn't going to be raped. but the men were brutal and unfeeling, and she might have wondered if they were just going to off her to make sure of no contamination.

brave, brave scene to film, and an outstanding accomplishment all around.

Interesting to speculate whether it was a proper future vision or whether it was a worst case scenario. Was the creature showing her what would definitely happen, or what could happen if she took it?
My impression of the "guardian" and what Helen experienced was basically "Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come". What could/would happen if she opened the artifact.

or....what it told her to keep her from opening it

it could have been the ultimate scare tactic, a guardian that protected its charge with mental force rather than physical force

I'm wondering. Do you guys think that the plot of the episode took place inside Magnus's head, kinda like "Absolute Power" in SG-1, or did the sentient mist stuff actually transport her physically into the future?

She did, when she was holding the artifact. I wondered why they had that close up of her cutting her hand on the car's hood. Though I think the future still happened in her head and the cut was something she received during the search.

Helen went looking for a way to 'cure' her longevity. She found the elixer to give her a normal life span, but an abnormal showed her a (possible?) future of what could happen if she took it. Most of the Mayan peoples died out over a very short period of time. In the Sanctuary universe this elixer that gave the Mayan kings normal lives was the reason why. It affected those without the long life gene quite badly.

I think Helen really lived what's happened, because if it was just a dream, her coat she found, would have disappeared, right?

                                I agree

If it had all been a dream the same with the cut on her hand wouldnt be there .

I think the misty abnormal not only showed her the future but let her expeariace it first hand it became a portal to future to see the effect's of certain chocies made and how it can effect the future .
