I think it's just a slightly lighter, warmer brunette. Very dark shades are too harsh as you get older, so taking the brunette a couple of shades lighter looks more natural and flattering.

Edit: Her dark is much darker in the first photo, I think the lighting has a lot to do with it. Just look at my avatar, the highlights look blonde but if you just saw the parts in shadow she would look as though her hair was dark blonde to brown.
