"I understand why Amanda Tapping was so excited about Sanctuary’s two-part season finale. Visually, “Kali” exceeds anything I’ve seen on the show. It’s easy to tell the difference between the computer-generated backdrops and the amazing on-location stuff they shot. I’m calling this one the Indiana Jones episode, because it has the global feel and the mystical, artifact-ish vibe that you get from Raiders of the Lost Ark and the other Indiana Jones flicks."
This weekend’s edition of SciFiPulse Radio features an exclusive interview with Sanctuary creator Damian Kindler, who took time out of his incredibly busy schedule to discuss the second season of the hit Syfy series with us.
Below is a sample of what you can hear this Sunday on the radio show when it airs:
"When Stargate Atlantis‘ TV run was brought to an end after five years, series writer/producer Alan McCullough, who had previously served as a writer/story editor on Stargate SG-1, relocated from the Pegasus Galaxy to take on a new creative challenge. He joined Sanctuary as a writer as well as co-executive producer and penned four scripts for the show’s second season. In his first one, Hero, Chris Gauthier, best known as Walter in Eureka, plays an ordinary man who is transformed into an unlikely costumed crusader against crime in the show’s fictional New City."

Weekend Fun in Los Angeles

... I also had the chance to attend a very unique stage play called Spike Heels, starring Robin Dunne (Will Zimmerman on the Syfy hit series Sanctuary) and actors Vanessa Parise, Jeff Roop and Katie Walder. In a small 47-seat theatre located in West Hollywood this intimate play has a limited run until January 31. The premise of the play is about 4 individuals (2 men and 2 women) in Boston whose lives, work and relationships blur the lines of friendship and love. At times the play was a little difficult to watch because of the honest portrayals of where friendship and love blur the lines of what’s right and what’s wrong; but the actors gave their all and truly entertained all of us in the audience. And that’s the key to acting: getting the message of the play across to the audience and entertaining them at the same time. Kudos should be extended to Dunne, Parise and Roop who produced this play which was written by Theresa Rebeck and directed by Stan Zimmerman.
As a side note, there was a celebrity sighting at the play as actor David DeLuise (son of the late, and great, comedian-actor Dom DeLuise and brother of actor-turned-director Peter DeLuise) was in attendance. It’s always nice to see actors supporting other actors in their work.
"Well Sanctuary comes to an end of it’s second season though it was it’s premiere in our living room. It manages to go out on a high an occasionally stumbling one but a high nevertheless.
It also a good time perhaps to look back and review some of the charms of Sanctuary and I think I’ll do that towards the end of this review."
