I pretty much agree with her reviews but not this one. Complete opposite :

Season three's finale disappointed me. I wish Kindler had ended the season with "Out of the Blue," which did a great job showing Will and Magnus in suburbia. Unfortunately, "Into the Black" left me in the dark by returning to Hollow Earth.

The Hollywood Reporter: What stands out from your Comic-Con experiences?

Amanda Tapping: I’ve been to maybe eight or nine Comic-Cons and when we first started Sanctuary, I’d been going as a Stargate actor and was barely able to walk the floor. We went for Sanctuary, and didn’t have a booth or panel and piggybacked off someone else’s booth. The next year, we had a bigger room and a bigger panel. There were 1,000 people in attendance, now we’re in the 2,000-person room. It feels like every year, we can see a progression for Sanctuary.

The feisty, brilliant Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) can run a sanctuary for abnormals like no other 160-year-old around. But can she sing. Fans of Sanctuary will find out this fall, when the Canadian science fiction series joins the ranks of Grey`s Anatomy, Scrubs and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and airs a musical episode.

Announced at Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday, the episode will explore the power of music as it relates to the brain.

``The basis of the story is the idea that there are certain harmonic frequencies that people respond to better than others``said Tapping, who is one of the show`s executive producers, told The Globe and Mail. ``And it gives them heightened abilities.``

In the episode, called Fugue, Abby Corrigan (Pascale Hutton, a trained singer) becomes possessed. Music holds the key to her rescue.

Series creator Damian Kindler, also an executve producer, was the driving force behind the episode. He co-wrote the music with Toronto-based composer Andrew Lockington, as well as the script, and also directs the episode.

When he pitched it to the networks - Space in Canada and Syfy in the U.S.- as a ``scary Exorcist dark rock opera,``Kindler figured they would likely turn him down. ``But they did the exact opposite`` he says. ``They bit down like a starving child on it.``

The show was taped earlier this summer at the show`s Burnaby, B.C. studios. ``In the very first take, it was very nerve-wracking,`` says Tapping. ``But after that, we just got into it.``

The musical episode will air during Sanctuary`s fourth season this November on Space in Canada.

10. It's time to thrill Sanctuary fans with some behind-the-scenes info. What can you tell us that won't get you in trouble. Also, what is it like working for Amanda Tapping?


All I can say is that it's amazing what this crew can come up with in such a small space and such little time. It really is magic! one time I was grabbing a drink on set and I hear this very low toned voice say "hey!" I turned around and bigfoot was behind me and I nearly jumped across the set. I had never seen him in person before and it was a great way to meet.
Amanda tapping has always been a favorite of mine since she played "Carter" from SG1. I Introduced myself to her and she said " I know who you are, and it's very nice to meet you" which warmed my heart. I never thought I would be working with her. Every time she comes through the art department she is dressed in some elaborate getup from some crazy time period.

TORONTO: Tricon Films & Television has secured new slots for the scripted sci-fi series Sanctuary, which is currently in production with its fourth season.

Seasons three and four were scooped up by NBCUniversal's Syfy Global channels in Iberia, Benelux, Greece/Cyprus, Russia/CIS, Asia and Latin America. AXN Central & Eastern Europe also went for both seasons, as did M-net Action in Africa, Astral's Z-Tele French service in Canada and TV1/Sci-Fi in Australia.

NBC's Steel Channel in Italy opted for season three alone. TV3 in Russia, ABC2 in Australia and YES DBS Satellite in Israel also scooped up season three.

Italy's RaiSat scored the free-TV rights for the first three seasons. T-Cast in Korea went for seasons one through three. VBC in Vietnam licensed free-TV rights for the first four seasons. TV1/Sci-Fi renewed seasons one and two.

Season four of the series will make its North American premiere on Syfy in the U.S. and Space in Canada.

“Sanctuary is a hugely successful franchise that just keeps getting stronger,” said Jon Rutherford, the VP of international sales and acquisitions at Tricon Films & Television. “It has connected with enthusiastic fans worldwide as we look to the launch of the much anticipated fourth season this fall.”
