someone actually asked her that on Twitter and AT said that Helen still had his ring....lol!!

I heard that. I think it could be taken as her interpretation of Helen. And she is one of the PTB. Well, she has every right to keep it. Especially in that time period I think. I think I've heard it said that if the woman breaks the engagement she gives the ring back, if the man does she can keep the ring. But he could have told her to keep it. Or they might not have even been any formal breaking off of the engagement. I guess we'll never know.

To see him like that, so vulnerable, I would have been surprised had she not. He was her life, an important part ripped away from her just when they were so in love. and now he's just an echo of who and what he was.

Helen may not be ready to admit it, but she needs John. Now more than ever.... at least that's what I want to believe.

I also imagined that the creature could have been responsible for his illness. Though I don't think it would have made its presence other than by presenting 'normal' symptoms. And MAYBE (alert for total speculation ahead) the creature knew that if John /were sick, Helen would do anythign to save him. Maybe it KNEW that, were John close to death, Helen would give him her blood and it would give him longevity. Since John was, as you said, somewhat the perfect host, I'm thinking it didn't want it to die.

Though I do think that the creature is smart enough to realize that once John has Helen's blood, John was the perfect host -- but I am not sure it knew that Helen's blood would give John longevity. But all we can do is assume.

But just wanted to point out that AT said in answer to a Tapping Tuesday question that Magnus still had the ring. I know we're supposed to take those answers with a grain of salt, but I chose to say that this one is right.

This is interesting! I don't know about everyone else, but if she still has the ring, it makes me think that John broke off the engagement, unless when she broke it off he insisted she keep the ring.

Since there was a 'presumed' Ripper murder in 1991, I'm guessing she 'knew' she hadn't killed him by shooting him.

I never thought if this, and I think you mean 1891. This makes me very excited - the possibilities.

The Ripper was too sudden, too unusual for a officel breaking off IMHO.

Besides, John wouldn't have break it off because even if he went all Ripper, he still loves her. So, I'm thinking, and that's my version of the facts until the TV show contradicts something, that he just left when he noticed she noticed. So, no breaking up officially and she kept the ring just because she didn't have time to think about something else to do.

Slightly OT.. cus i have to tell EVERYONE

last night i met and Greeted my favorite band before seeing them in concert (from row XD) and the lead singer wrote this song for his wife (who's also in the band) and i was listening to them on the plane flgiht home today and figured it would be a great H/J song XD
