There has been talk about some kind of gaming aspect to Sanctuary none of which we have seen yet. I am holding on that that will give us something to look forward to until we wait.

I gotta admit, my heart sunk a little with the Merlin reference - I don't know if I like Merlin in SG or in Sanctuary. I hope it was coincidence or perhaps putting the origin of the witches in context? Still, DK is a good writer and the story gets better and better each webisode, so I think it will be ok.
Wexford was cool - what is the deal with his need for water/ moisture? And the structures on his face?
I think the Merlin/Morgan LaFay connection works much better here than it did in SG-1. Somehow that just seemed out of place. I think it was too "new" of a mythology. It just didn't seem to fit the pattern for SG-1.

Just looking at the fact that it took four months to get the two hour pilot ready, if they don't start filming new footage until October/November when Amanda finishes filming for Atlantis then I don't really expect to see any new wepisodes before Jan/Feb 2008. So if people think the two week wait is excessively long now, just imagine what they will be like come next year when the next installment of wepisodes are released. They will be pulling out their hair or have given up completely I would suspect. A bit like how many fans felt during the SG-1 hiatus.Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.

Finding Sanctuary in CG
VFX Guru Ron Martin on Creating the Sci-Fi Webisodic Series
By Linda Romanello
May 24, 2007
While new Sci-Fi series Sanctuary premiered earlier this month, it wasn’t on any TV network. Rather, the show, which stars several familiar faces from Sci-Fi Channel’s popular series Stargate SG-1 (including Amanda Tapping and Christopher Heyerdahl), made its debut on May 14—as an online-only webisodic series.
The mastermind behind Sanctuary is creator/writer/executive producer Damian Kindler (creator of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis) but also features some out-of-this-world visuals by VFX producer Ron Martin.
The show is produced by Vancouver-based Stage 3 Media and features story lines that combine science, fantasy and a garden variety of, well, monsters. However, it’s the visual effects and technology behind the project that’s the real story here.
Click below for an exlusive look behind the scenes with creator Ron Martin of how Sanctuary is created.

The Web site, where the trailer and webisodes are “airing,” is totally interactive and features a proprietary media player created by Stage 3 solely for Sanctuary. The series itself is shot against green screen and all the elaborate and detailed scenery is created exclusively by Martin and his team using Softimage|XSI. With the online Sci-Fi community all abuzz about Sanctuary—calling it “innovative,” “compelling” and “gothic cool,” here’s what Martin has to say about his experience so far.
What’s the response been like so far from the Sci-Fi community?
RON MARTIN: Both elated and surprised that something of this quality is being offered online. And with that there was a great amount of anticipation [before it premiered]. There are huge amounts of Sci-Fi fans worldwide that cannot access the shows on terrestrial broadcast, and have to wait for a year for distribution to reach them. We offered to all Sci-Fi fans, on May 14th, the Sanctuary experience.

Television, Video Game In 'Sanctuary' Future?
by MARX PYLE
Source: SyFy Portal
Aug-02-2007
The series "Sanctuary" may have gotten its start on the Web, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's going to stay there.
The people behind the Web series, which can be found at Sanctuary For All, say that while their goal was to bring this show to computers everywhere, it doesn't have to stay there.
"You have to think of an idea that works seamlessly across multiple formats," Damian Kindler, the Stargate producer who is the creator of "Sanctuary" and chief executive of Stage 3 Media which produces the series, told SyFy Portal's Marx Pyle. You want "something you can push to mobile phones, to your iPod, to television, to DVD, [and something that] is a good interactive online experience and is a great standalone game. We create one type of entertainment -- different forms of it -- but this is the sort of format. We want to be the pioneers, the innovators, the perfectionists. That is it. That is our goal. That's the plan."

DVDs are something I really want. Watching it on the computer only doesn't hack it. Nice DVDs with good video quality and extras. I think it's a no-brainer. Of course, they probably should wait until they have a 'season' to release.
There's TV, too. Time limits will be a problem, and maybe some content as well, but they could cut several webisodes together to eventually make TV episodes. Could be a profitable syndication show...
Of course the webisodes would still premiere online. Syndication would be about a year behind, to keep the net revenue coming in. Bottom line is, webisodes, DVD, syndication...this show needs all the revenue it can get to keep running.Sign the Petition to get the SG-1 Complete Series Bonus Discs released separately!

I'm already worrying about the hiatus. Yikes.Words have tremendous power. The right words spoken by the right people at the right times can lift up communities, transform lives, mend relationships, break hearts—even topple empires.
