Another interesting observation I've got is that it appears that when Peter gain an ability it take him quite a bit of time to master, whereas for Sylar seems to be getting to the skills very quickly. For example, just this episode when Peter absorb Ted's ability, his hand was glowing and he was forcing it under-control, yet we never seen Sylar have the same problem. It could have something to do with his ability to "see how things work".
That's probably a part of it but tt might also have something to do with Charlie. Her ability was to catch on fast, and I'm betting that applies to things not written down in a book.

That is a good point, I bet that does play a part in learning the new abilities. I also think that the reason is because he has been at it alot longer than Peter has. And also he knows what abilities he is taking so he can focus on them longer and concentrate, where Peter just absorbs them and has to know what power goes with whom. As he said when he was training, he has to remember that person to use their power.

Good point about the Charli thing, that probably helps Sylar.

        i can't believe i've nearly forgotten her already !

Right from the beginning, Sylar seems to adapt to powers a lot better ; the telekinetic guy could just barely move a glass, after Sylar took his power he sent a glass flying off Suresh Senior's table. Also, the melting guy seemed to be a bit out of control with his power, and Sylar adapted to the enhanced hearing a lot quicker.

Interesting, Peter currently has the potential for all of Sylar's powers and plus has extras. Tell me if i'm missing anything :

Sylar - perception (how things work), telekinesis, freeze power, move really quickly/leaping (Hearing girl : "i didn't hear your footsteps", Sylar : "that's cause there weren't any"), extra tough (survives falls, chest gunshot wounds, fakes his own death at Primatech Paper, overcomes Mohinder's serum), altering voice power ?, enhanced memory, melt solid objects, enhanced hearing, precognition and radiation generation.

Peter - can use dreaming, invisibility, precognition, cell regeneration, telekinesis, human flight, mind-reading and radiation generation.

Peter can potentially also do : persuasion, alter space-time continuum (Hiro !), maybe funky voice ? , as well as all of Sylar's other powers, but he hasn't mastered them yet or even knows about them all.

Ooh, I can't wait for the finale either! I spent 6 hours yesterday catching up on episodes I'd missed but recorded. I didn't realise that the finale hadn't aired yet I was gutted that I have to wait even longer to see it!

I'm thinking that's telekinesis. If he's floating himself around, there wouldn't be any footsteps.

True. I've also heard theories that Nathan's flying power is a specialised form of telekinesis.

Agreed, if he can open a door then he can make himself float.

Here's Tim Kring on the finale...

                  Spoiler:
Tim Kring, creator and executive producer of Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming season finale will introduce new characters that will become central to the story in the second season. “There are several new characters coming in the immediate future,” Kring said in an interview. “The idea of the show from the start was always to basically honor the origin story of the first sort of blush and discovery of these powers. And so, in order to do that, new characters will have to be cycled into the show. And by extension, older characters will cycle out of the show.”

While the first year of the show was subtitled “Volume One: Genesis,” the second season will be called “Volume Two: Generations.”

“The idea of multiple generations has started to crop up on the show,” Kring said. “And in the second season we will deal with that more, hence the title, ‘Generations. … The idea was that we wanted to make it easy for viewers to be able to come on in the second season. And we thought if we wrapped the show too tightly around itself so that you had to watch 23 episodes before, it would be harder for new viewer to find the show. And we always want to be a show that has the barrier of entry low enough so that new viewers can join if they want.”

Kring confirmed that the show will indeed end on a cliffhanger, but one that hopefully won’t be frustrating for the viewers. “No, I think it’ll be intriguing more than frustrating,” he said. “The idea was to end one idea of the show, one story, and then slingshot you into the next season.”

That could get pretty confusing. Having to remember a certain person to use their power. Especially in pressure situations.

Seems like they are going to finish up the current story and then start another one before the finally ends.

This finale should be absolutely non-stop then. It's going to be something. I can't wait.

The finale's getting closer by the minute, for fans on my side of the planet a mere two sleeps !

Cheers Doze, i checked out that poster, the 3D looks awesome. I was always a little leery of the Kangaroo Jack animation (mind you i still haven't managed to see a full episode yet, so perhaps it looks better in full action) it just didn't scream SW to me.

I was looking thru things and discussing with my brother.

We think that the heroes eclipse MAY be the bomb going off.

                              Heres a pic.

That just the effect you get during an eclipse right before or after the moment of complete coverage. Just the very edge of the sun is still uncovered resulting in a big flare like that.

I do think that someone will explode though. Just not in the city killing heaps of people.

I think the best possibilities of that happening are Nathan flying Peter/Sylar out to sea/high in the air, Peter flying Sylar out to sea/high in the air or Hiro teleporting Peter/Sylar to some remote location.

I'm going to guess Nathan flying Peter somewhere because its a good chance for Nathan to redeem himself (hopefully he can get clear of Peter before detonation and survive) and I choose Peter because we've been led to believe its him all along plus its more motivation for Nathan to do something.

Or... maybe they'll just throw us a complete curve ball and have Sylar about to explode but get shot in the head from behind by someone at the very last second preventing any explosion. I doubt it, but we'll find out soon enough I can't wait!
Thus it will come to pass... the dying leader will know the truth of the opera house... the missing 3 will give you the 5 who have come from the home of the 13th... you are the harbinger of death, Kara Thrace - you will lead them all to their end. End of line.
