Natalie Dormer (Anne Boleyn in The Tudors) has been cast as Margaery Tyrell.

Seems that increased CGI in season 2 is confirmed, including lots more Direwolves (that because of the size they are supposed to grow to, will probably in part have to be CG), and Dragons.

I saved the last two episodes of the season and watched them last night. The beheading of Ned Stark was shocking. He was my favorite character so far. I am not familiar with the books, so all of this is new for me. I am greatly looking forward to season two. It will be difficult to wait for so long! This is a fantastic show.

Bit of cast news, Richard Madden, who plays Robb Stark, has also bagged himself a lead role in the comedy drama, "Sirens," being shown on Channel 4 in the UK, so UK viewers, or those who can get UK programmes through other means like the net, check it out, I think it starts tonight and it looks pretty funny.

Winter is Coming have an overview of season 1's ratings, in short, they're damn good. While at the start they were not spectacular, they have constantly and steadily risen throughout the whole season, and the finale matched Boardwalk Empire's. Even better the show his now in the top 5 most watched HBO shows. It's done very well for the first season.

And now for a blatant plug for Boardwalk Empire. If you are looking for something almost as good to tide you over in the wait for season 2 of Thrones, then apart from reading the books, I would recommend Boardwalk Empire, HBO's other epic. It's very good (though perhaps not quite as good as GOT ) and a season 2 trailer has just been released.
