As long as it doesnt turn into a Soap by having the cliche one person with a eye patch rule that seems to be the number one rule of soaps i'm ok with it, I do only consider the show a filler rather then a main course though.

Yes, instead let's watch a show where you have the token woman, token tough guy, token nerd, and military leader all on one team. Oh, and the military leader is a no-nonsense gruff "duhr, i not speak science" guy and the nerd is a socially awkward dude who solves every possible problem using a laptop.
