Lost City," "Lead," "Sharkboy" top Imagen finalists Fri Jun 30, 1:42 AM ET
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Lionsgate's "The Lost City," New Line Cinema's "Take the Lead" and Miramax's "The Adventures of Sharkboy & Lavagirl in 3-D" are the three finalists in the best picture category for the 21st annual Imagen Awards, which recognize positive portrayals of Latinos in entertainment.
Among other nominees announced Thursday...**snippage**"West Wing's" Jimmy Smits and sitcom star George Lopez earned mentions in the lead TV actor category alongside "Walkout's" Michael Pena, Danny Pino of CBS' "Cold Case" and Edward James Olmos of Sci Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica."

Winners in these and nine other categories will be announced August 18 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The eligibility period for this year's awards is April 1, 2005-April 30.

Galactica 2.5 Due Sept. 19
Battlestar Galactica 2.5, the DVD set encompassing the second half of the second season of the Emmy-winning SCI FI Channel original series, will be released on Sept. 19 with several special features, including an extended version of the cliffhanger season finale "Pegasus." The set includes episodes 11-20 of the second season, which follows the ongoing battle of President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) and Cmdr. William Adama (Edward James Olmos) in their crusade to save humanity from the deadly Cylons.
The DVD set, which carries a suggested retail price of $49.98, includes deleted scenes, podcasts and producer David Eick's video blog (originally seen on SCIFI.COM).

Cable shows overflowing to big networks

As cable channels steal more viewers from the big networks, some of their shows are going the other way as network siblings provide broader exposure.
The latest to make the reverse migration is Kyle XY, an ABC Family drama that premiered Monday with 2.6 million viewers, a network record. Starting Friday (9 ET/PT), ABC will repeat each episode on Fridays in a trial four-week run that could last the entire 10-episode season.
USA's Psych, which premieres next week, may get an NBC run later this summer. NBC already has given prime-time exposure to Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, USA's The 4400 and Sci Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica —it owns all three channels — and purchased rights to Forensic Files from Court TV.

The prospect of "getting new eyeballs that get exposed to it and then come to USA or Sci Fi because they've tasted it on NBC is invaluable," says Bonnie Hammer, who heads both the NBC-owned cable networks.

And Hammer says specialized sci-fi shows such as Battlestar and 4400 by nature "limit those who are going to test it on NBC to begin with." A 4400 clip show that aired June 3 on NBC had just 3 million viewers, fewer than it gets on USA.
