So much for Trump. Unless of course he ignores this and does what he wants anyway.

Donald Trump announced Thursday he has signed a GOP pledge not to run as an independent in 2016, after a personal appeal from the Republican Party chairman.

"I have signed the pledge," Trump said, holding it up.

You shouldn't punish a person for not following one amendment by breaking another amendment

The pledge is not a legally binding document. Trump's entire candidacy is premised on how he doesn't owe anyone anything and how no one can tell him what to do. So, for the moment, it's in Trump's interest to play nice with the GOP establishment, it's unlikely but he could still win the party nomination.

At this stage in the campaign it doesn't really matter what he does, or who is in the lead.. It's all about the publicity. And insane policies. If he has any intention of sticking around until the later stages he's actually going to have to come up with some workable policies.. But if his only goal was to get people talking about him.. and maybe make some more money.. then he's done exactly what he set out to do.

*is hoping it was all a publicity stunt*

Not a chance. Sure, he may have the support of the rank and file Republican/Conservative voters (He's way ahead of whoever is in 2nd place at the moment) But there is no way in hell the NRC will allow him to be the party's nominee.
You may be forgetting that the Republican party at the national level no longer represents Conservative or even Republican viewpoints. Look at Congress. The Republicans have had control of both houses of Congress since 2012. Just how much have they tried to do to stop the Democrat/LSoS agenda? Diddly. They don't want to stop it, many of them agree with it.
