Singer. Was supposed to do a concert in Brussels a couple of weeks from now.
Une légende s'est éteinte, repose en paix.
Spoiler:
I don’t want to be human. I want to see gamma rays, I want to hear X-rays, and I want to smell dark matter. Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can’t even express these things properly, because I have to—I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid, limiting spoken language, but I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws, and feel the solar wind of a supernova flowing over me. I’m a machine, and I can know much more.
And another singer goes. Some of you, and I, might only ever heard her sing once, in duet with Freddie Mercury, but she was a well known opera singer:
Montserrat Caballé, a Spanish operatic soprano. She sang a wide variety of roles, but is best known as an exponent of the works of Verdi and of the bel canto repertoire, notably the works of Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti.
She died on October 6, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain, 85 years old.
