Yes and as Wood called it pretentious to have a window like that on such a small wooden home. But I read somewhere that they did it so they could actually get large furniture up on that second floor as the stair wells were very narrow. So those windows functionally swung open. And maybe that is the satire of the piece....it shows what Americans do with stuff...we tend to dumb stuff down. We're just those "dumb Americans" *plays Hee Haw Music*
