My Master's Degree thesis was a comparison of Jentsch and Freud's theories of the uncanny and how they influenced Mori's theory of the uncanny valley.. then I applied that theory to non anthropomorphic creature design to explain how the concept of spectacle is important to the willing suspension of disbelief.. making note of the effects of the familiar and the homely on the audience's willingness to suspend disbelief...
