I am well aware of the difference. However, the buzzing principles of the tuba and trombone are the same. The difference is the sliding action of the trombone (requiring knowledge of the Positions), and the Tuba's valves, which is easier knowing the Euphonium. However, the kid in the photo appears to be blasting a random note of the Trombone, so my point still stands: That is how I imagine you two meeting.

but maybe it wasn't the "blast" from the note...maybe it was the "slide action" of the trombone that caused the "knock out" I'd have to see a video on it to be sure
