If you look at the statistics there aren't that many squirrels killed on the road ways...they are too quick for that.....where we have our problems is climbing telephone poles and getting fried when our little feet scurries across the live wire and then makes contact..with the pole......it's BBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ *Fried Squirrel* *sigh* Lost so many relatives that way.
In order to be properly fried, they would have to be touching two wires simultaneously, and where there is no insulation, the wires are several feet apart. This is why birds can land on power wires; they are only touching 1 wire; current has no path to ground.

it's when they reach the pole and they reach up from there and touch the grounded transformer....they complete the circuit and go boom...and I know this to be true. Mr. SQ works for our local power company and he frequently gets a good chuckle and teases me about their 'squirrel reports' because invariably when a squirrel gets fried it also blows the circuit and that means you have to dispatch the line crew to fix the problem. *watches jelgate make a note on his Mr. SQ clues whiteboard
