Because you think it will get so crazy that it loops back around to sane again?

If you throw gasoline on the fire the country won't be screwed up anymore, since it'll no longer exist.

So I suppose you have a point.

We have very different ideas about politics, you have a very far left view of things, and I am very far right/libertarian. So I expect your definition of "sane" might be different.

I'm just saying that this place is so frakked up that crazy is about the only thing that has a chance of working, continuing on our current path will lead to the fall of the US

Libertarian, eh? So how do you feel about Trump essentially saying that states should be free to violate individuals' constitutional rights?

Or is it only your freedom that's relevant?

Whose constitutional rights are you referring to?

(Note: this may be better suited to the political thread, let me know if you want to move it)

He said same-sex marriage should be decided by the states.

I'm sure that would make for a fascinating ceremony.

                              Ok, that makes sense.
                              The 10th amendment reads:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
Since the Constitution doesn't mention marriage at all, it's a states' issue.

Yes, I know, there is debate regarding the equal protection clause of the 14th Amend. But there are two legitimate arguments here, so I wouldn't call Trump "crazy" for choosing that interpretation.

That's too ridiculous for any thread.

The constitution doesn't mention apartments either, so people have no rights while in their apartments.
