I dont know who the artist had in mind when he/she painted it. But, it goes with the verse which is Odin talking about when he hung himself on from the world tree. So for me and the sake of my sig, its Odin.

Translated it reads:

I also forgot to mention which poem and translation it was as well, It is Lee Hollanders Translation of the Havamal.

(though Stanza 157 would fit as well)..............
