I thought it was a bit too "handy" to be able to visit home like that, especially when they were supposed to be way out there and cut off. And yes, it was creepy too.

It makes sense in the context of the Icarus Base as they had no idea where the 9th chevron goes. It showed how hard it was to get the energy for a 9th chevron lock
