It went from "they should be punished somehow" to "there should be consequences", to "the one who performs the abortion should be punished, not the woman having it".

I'm not going to go down the abortion road again, we all know where we stand.
But it's a valid question. If Abortion is illegal, why shouldn't all of the participants, the woman, husband (if there is one, he is presumably part of the decision and agreed with it) and the Doctor should all be held accountable.

If you break a law, why shouldn't you expect to be held accountable. This is no different.

Is it about whether or not women should be punished for abortion -or is it about whether or not existing laws should be enforced? If the former, you're evil if you say "yes". If the latter, you're evil if you say "no".

also existing american laws only punish the doctor performing the procedure so enforcing these doesn't mean extending their scope
