        Sadly true.

Now they have invented bullets that can seek targets. Why are we humans so good at inventing ways to kill each other?

In 1984 this was in a movie called Runaway but now it's going to happen for real.

We already have target-seeking rockets - so bullets ain't that much of a stretch.

One cannot know peace without knowing war.

Because we like to believe we are creating these things to protect ourselves, while in reality we are simply killing eachother in the name of freedom and world peace.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a good example of this with project Insight.

how the hell does the bullet know where to hit? it has onboard computer? camera? radar/IR sensors? and self propulsion? not to mention enough energy to power all that? all in the space of a bullet?

I would think they use a combo of heatseeking and guidance by chip (so it can be hacked).

If the 2nd amendment was adhered to nationwide, I'd venture to say we wouldn't have this type of riot anywhere. Just a whole lot of dead or wounded criminals and thugs. But it seems the only places this sort of thing ever happens is where the citizens no longer have the right to bear arms.

2nd amendment opponents, are you listening?

Does that only work if the target is alone? And how does it know who the target is, do the guys with the gun use their sights to guide it, oh, hold on, no they dont, we need more info

                  Edit: not much more

Do they paint their targets with lasers?

Yes, because having the most lethal "accidents" with guns is such a cool statistic to have.

Optical sensors - that is kinda wicked technology. If only it wasn't bullets they used it with.

But then everyone would have guns and it would be war instead of just riots....It would make the Arab spring look like the Mayweather/Pacquio fight.

And now for something completely surprising...

                        http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015...s-report-says/

Seems that the LSoS's* signature health care plan is continuing to fall to pieces.

Almost half of the 17 ObamaCare state insurance exchanges are reportedly suffering financial difficulties, posing a significant challenge to state officials just five years after the passage of President Obama’s signature health care law.

The Washington Post reports that many of the marketplaces set up by the states and the District of Columbia are being hit by high costs and tepid enrollment numbers. In response, officials at state level are mulling raising fees on insurers, sharing costs with nearby states, and are calling for more money to be infused into the system.

Some officials are even considering handing over their exchanges to the federal Healthcare.gov – an exchange that has had widely reported problems of its own
                        * LSoS = Lying Sack of Shiznit, a title granted to the current occupant of the White House as a reward for the continual stream of falsehoods spoken by him, such as "If you like your current doctor/health plan, you can keep it".

Health care is still relatively young in the US - of course, there will be issues.

So, you think it would be better if only the crooks have the guns? Criminals don't bother to abide by gun control laws.

I think it would be better if no one had the guns.

                              You said-

This sort of thing does happen when the populace is armed to the teeth. But like i said, when thats the case it ceases to be rioting and we call it civil war, terrorism, revolution, massacre, bloodbath. They are no longer rioters but militants, militias, terrorist groups, insurgents, armies and so on.

                              Also-
Just a whole lot of dead or wounded criminals and thugs. But it seems the only places this sort of thing ever happens is where the citizens no longer have the right to bear arms.
There are places all over the world where everyone isnt armed and this sort of thing doesn't or rarely ever happens.
Plus those rioters are citizens too, so if the citizens were armed both sides would have guns and we come back to the whole bloodbath thing.

No, health care in the U.S. is not young at all. In fact, the U.S. health care system was one of best and most advanced in the world, if not the best. Many people from around the world came here to have diseases that were untreatable in their home countries for treatment.

As far as access to that health care system, prior to the start of our economic downfall in the 70's and eighties, the majority of our citizens had health insurance through their employers. But our government though it would be a good idea to sign treaties that would outsource many of our better paying jobs backwater nations where labor costs were pennies on the dollar in comparison, and now it wants to import low wage workers to take jobs that can't be easily outsourced.

Our health care system was never the problem. It was the best in the world. The problem lies with the economy. But since the government is in large part responsible for that mess, I wouldn't expect them to fix it. Trying to fix that by screwing with the health care system is like trying to fix a hot water heater by working on the dishwasher. It ain't gonna fix it.

Our government has a long and glorious history of screwing up everything it touches. And now it's target is what used to be the best health care system on earth.
