tell me about it.....how hard can it possibly be to find a position, stick to it and not go wishy-washy like Charlie Brown, and explain the position you've chosen in a calm, logical manner that makes sense and eschews mudslinging? but instead we got a bunch of mudslinging hypocrites running who seem to be pathologically incapable of sticking to their guns.....

well FCOL nobody's perfect.....if people are waiting for a perfect person to run for public office they're gonna have an awful long wait......

take Perry for example....I mean I wouldn't vote for him anyway but my reasons for not voting for him would not have been because of a brain fart....we all get brain farts from time to time....sometimes at inopportune moments....such as on national TV....but that was hardly any reason to treat the guy like he makes a habit of tying ropes to dog's testicles and starts yanking

I mean if you disagree with a candidate's position on certain issues that's fine.....but don't skewer the guy because he exhibits the same human imperfections as the rest of us

Gater, In this day and age... if you want to run for president you need to be able to act like you can handle the pressure. I don't make excuses for them. Just like sports figures, choking at the "big game" is unacceptable. It seems like I have been saying this for years, not here, that the reps needed to really step up their game to win next election and they never really did.

Yes, the big problem is most respectable people, on either side, that we really need don't want to get involved in that mess and have their lives turned upside down. I would love to see what type of people we had running our country today if they media had not turned it into the circus that it is today.

well for me one brain fart or occasional moments of stupidity in misspent youth is not gonna decide for me that a certain candidate wouldn't make a good president.....however if they hope to be president they should exhibit the ability to learn from their mistakes and move on instead of repeating their mistakes

I prefer to look at their position on the issues rather than whatever stupid stuff they may have done in their past....we all do dumb things we would rather forget having done...so to me the fact that a candidate is imperfect to me means that he or she is as blessedly human as the rest of us and not some mindless pre-programmed automaton
