Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Actor Peter Graves, best known for his starring role on TV's "Mission: Impossible," died Sunday. He was 83.

While the cause of the actor's death was not immediately known, he apparently suffered a heart attack, his publicist said.

That is sad. They play The series Mission Impossible on the Retro TV channel every night. I have watched it and it is a nice legacy to leave for us to see.

This is a sad day. I've only ever seen him in Airplane! and Airplane II: The Sequel however I really thought he was great. He was a funny man.

They were both in Airplane, and Peter Graves played Captain Clarence Oveur in the film. He was also in Mission Impossible.

Had some friends who nicknamed my Dad, Peter Graves cause they looked alot alike. My Dad had white hair at an early age.
