What was the last movie you saw ? + recomendations
My lady friend could not stop laughing in that one expletive-laced scene. The entire theater pretty much had uncontrollable laughs for about 5 minutes.

Just put on The Fighter, will report back in when I'm done.
/why yes, I am trying to watch all the Best Picture nominees, why do you ask?

I'm usually not big on watching Best Picture nominees but King's Speech was a wee bit different. I knew a lot about George VI's back story and I'd been meaning to watch King's Speech for a while. Also, a British acquaintance in real life told me what she thought his older brother (she called him a number of unmentionables ) so I definitely wanted to invite a lady friend of mine to watch it with me. It helps that I knew she'd love the story.

Honestly I usually don't bother either. I generally consider the Academy to be a bunch of self-aggrandizing, self-congratulatory asses. But I've read pretty good stuff about most of the nominees this year so I thought I'd check them out

Well, turned off The Fighter after about 40 minutes. I enjoy blue-collar to a point, but there comes a point when it's so self involved that it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.
Shame too, as I quite like Wahlberg, Bale, and Amy Adams.

Wow that bad, eh? I'm not interested in boxing myself though with other sports movies that's a bit different. With a cast like that I thought they'd have something better to offer.

Well as with anything, your mileage may vary of course. Up to where I stopped, they were all giving respectable performances. But when they're characters I'm not interested in the slightest, paired with character traits that I find grating (which, though it may sound elitists of me, I find blue-collar to be), I have a hard time getting interested.

In the run-up to SAW VII's release to Blu-Ray and DVD on Monday, March 7th (although I expect I'll receive my copy on Saturday, 5th March), I'm watching each of the first six movies on a daily basis.
On DVD: SAW
Also thought I'd share this with everyone (WARNING: CONTAINS TWO USES OF THE F*** WORD):
