There are two events that I saw live on television and was so glad that I wasn't there "live" - Challenger and 9-11. My sister was in New York on 9-11. What a horrible event.
Our collective consciousness is burned by the memories of the smiling, happy astronauts and a young teacher boarding the shuttle and the twin-trails of smoke after the disaster. Likewise, the disbelief as we watched the second plane, on live television, plow into the tower. You see it as it happens and the sense of utter helplessness is overwhelming.

After a while Jack has a whole plate full with steaks, and at the grill now lie sausages and shashlik, and he calls Sam over to get something while he is drinking from his beer bottle:
Sam reluctantly leaves her beach chair to get something to eat:
