They do but they are not preferred over the white boards and now the Smart Boards...that even still has been replaced with Smart Projectors. It's so hard to stay up with technology these days. What's funny is chalkboards have seen a resurgence in the crafty community as they are sort of considered now like an antique and used to sell to people who want this type of quaint rustic/retro country crafty look in their decorating.

With that said... I think a chalkboard would make an awesome plaque to commemorate Nola! they do sell permanent chalk paints to use on them.
