He ruined his vocal chords in the early 90's but apart from that I think they've just kinda ... Aged. It's sounded a bit less harsh and more ... melodic (?) recently (apart from St. Anger lol). I quite like it. And yeah, the ending is kinda severe. It's supposed to be similar in structure to One so I assume they were aiming for some sort of similar ending...

But yeah, I like it. Was kind of unsure at first but it got stuck in my head the other night and I found myself listening to that (and a few others) on repeat most of yesterday. Looking forward to the album though. It's been a long 3 years since I first heard rumours! Plus, I love the album artwork.

well i know you listen more to the tunes part ... and it is trademark metallica (i even recognize it on the radio, even in the middle of the song! i know ... you are so proud!) ... but i can't get past the words ... they are so disturbing (i guess also trademark metallica

)

must say the artwork is fitting ... but i guess if you have such a sad perspective of life and the world then you would be looking for the key hole to the other side ... the promise of a better life through death ... *shudder*

i guess the ultimate optimist that is me just aches to know people actually feel that way and miss the amazing beauty of this world ... all the wonderful people, all the glorious creation ... *sigh* ... to be eternally drowning in such pain with no hope beyond the suffering ... oh my!!

but then that is also me ... always over analyzing ... i get yelled at for that too!! blame all those teachers who provoked me to look deeper and read beneath the lines ... must say the artwork did just that ... provoked me to further thought ... i have been pondering it all day!!

who'd a thunk i could be happy to see gas drop back down below $3.5 a US gallon!!
