You look deceptively soft.
I caress your personality lovingly
but
I feel the hard coldness
the unrelenting firmness
underneath the false velvet.

I see the signs in an exquisite
chilling
despairing feeling.

If I allow myself to fall
for you
on you
I fear my bones may break
my heart may stop

I will be dropped and I will shatter.



I cannot take that chance.

Reciting poetry in Zulu may not seem like much of a talent, but it landed Ashrita Furman in the record books - yet again.

Furman, 54, of Jamaica, Queens, became the first person to hold 100 Guinness Book of World Records simultaneously Tuesday after assembling a group that recited a poem in 111 languages at City Hall Park. The bunch took turns reading "Precious," by the late Indian spiritual leader Sri Chinmoy.

"It was fun learning about many of these languages - quite a few I never even heard of," said Furman, who read the eight-line poem in Zulu.

i don't know if this counts as Poetry but meh

i wrote this about a close friend

From the moment i saw her walking down the mangers office i knew there was something special about her. And i was right me and Amber clicked right way. she is (from the person that i got to know) everything that i would want in a friend or lover.

Her kindness,soft voice and her willingness to help someone was so welcoming. We for a sort time became very good friends. Amber also holds the right to being the first person in 3 years to actually go out of her way to invite me anywhere. which to some might not be a big deal but it meant a lot to me!!!

But the most obvious thing that i missed was that the closer we became i was blind to the fact that she had already found her love. A ring on her finger the biggest hint the one that i missed.

So one faithful day i asked her the question and to my regret got the answer that i was not hoping to hear. her heart did belong to someone else and i was to late.

If i had known that this was to be the last day that we might talk i wouldn�ve have asked her at all. I now miss her kindness,soft voice and her gentle nature. I miss her laughs her smile I miss her.

We are so far apart now and yet so close. But while i work i always spare a few seconds a day to look in her direction, hoping she is doing ok hoping she is happy ..wondering if I am on her mind like she is always on mine.

From my view

My tired eyes concealed by lids,
I felt the strength in your arms,
Whilst also feeling the gentleness,
The tenderness,
When your hands touched mine.

I looked up at you, though you did not know.
I silently admired your well defined jawline, that revealed strength;
Your refined lips, which spoke words of God, of love, of joy, and of hope;
Your fine eyes appeared to gaze steadily at a wall, though they looked upon thoughts esoteric.

Then your eyes turned to mine.
I blushed imperceptibly,
Smiling softly at your own soft smile.
Closing my eyes, I held you tighter.
Your head leant on mine,
Your arms protectively closed around me.

I felt so safe.

Your refined lips parted.

“I love you.”

I breathed in unsteadily.

“I love you too.”
