There are only four movies in the series, the only things in common are: the title, some sort of disaster befalling an airplane and the actor George Kennedy playing a character named Joe Patroni whose job is different in each movie. Maybe they all take place in different alternate realities and Joe Patroni is some kind of disaster magnet.Originally posted by Annoyed View Post

Kennedy seemed to relish this type of role, which was common for him, a hands-on guy that gets the job done with little respect for the bosses or the rule book. He played a similar role in "Earthquake" as well.
