has anyone had trouble installing the update for xbox 360

I have had alot of trouble installing the update for my 360. I put it on blank dvd. I also tried using cd's and when I put it in it does not start it keeps saying mixed media disc. I try to click on it but nothing happens. Appreciate any help anyone can give

Hmm, I didn't even know there was an update for 360. Maybe I already got it...any idea what it applies to?
