    And then
    Spoiler:
floki finishes going nuts when he realizes in killing Athelstan he killed Ragnar's lucky charm...or that's how he'll see it

And I do think the mysterious traveler will show back up somehow. I do recall reading something that said his appearance wasn't random

      Spoiler:
Isn't Zippy the Wanderer really Odin? He might come to escort Ragnar to Valhalla.

      Yeah, Floki will go crazier.

        It would be poetic if
        Spoiler:
yeah, odin comes to take Ragnar - either the end of this season or next season - and Ragnar has to face his greatest fear....that his sons will be more remembered than he is. (or be comforted by his greatest hope, can't recall which way it goes)

then season 4 can be a huge fast forward to the sons...and ratings will determine if the story continues or if it ends - we do know they already have one more season.

          Well, after last night
          Spoiler:
they do definitely seem to be leading up to Ragnar's death. He's got some sort of internal injury and is bleeding internally. Throwing up blood and urinating blood suggests massive kidney trauma from the fall and possibly digestive system bleeding. He even said last night that he was dying.
          So departure from the stories?
Either he is magically saved (by Odin?) or he dies.

If Ragnar dies in France, who will go to England revenge? Bjorn?

Well besides the 50 Shades of Odo bit, a good finale.

                It was good
                Spoiler:
they really did make me think Ragnar was dead. Michael Hirst isn't the kind to toss history out the window but I thought maybe he had this time. (my experience with his shows, The Tudors and the Borgias is while he may wiggle a lot with little events, he usually remains true to big historical moments)
Since Ragnar in history is part real, part fiction, part conglomeration of real people, he would have had the license to really tweak things.
I think it did a good job of having them raid Paris, portraying Ragnar's 'death' (It's a good thing he and Lagatha are no longer married or she'd kill him for this), and setting up the next season.
The Princess....doesn't quite realize that feisty turns Rollo on. I think the biggest issue......how many times has Rollo turned on his brother or fought on the other side?
We'll see how things play out next season.

Who says he will actually fight against Ragnar when the time comes? He could just be in it for the long con...get in, reproduce with the princess, take some gold and silver, and return to his ways.

It was just the 'fight against your brother' bit....I'm like deja'vu

                      Spoiler:
Languages in this show confused me. Did Rollo learn Frankish? He either didn't understand what the princess said or was not offended. I've wondered if somebody would try to recruit Rollo and his fighting skills.
Didn't that there was a betrayal plot again.

                        Spoiler:
from how he spoke I think he did learn just those couple of words in Frankish and he had no idea what hte princess said, just knew by her tone that she was telling him off....and I think he was amused. They'd already had the scenes of him looking at her and vice versa and suggesting the interest on both parties. He likes a woman with spirit and she certainly has it. She, I think, has no patience for wimps like her father and is attracted to the barbarian even as she protests that she isn't.

I don't think Rollo is setting out to betray Ragnar, it's very possible that he'll double cross the French.

Well, the princess does seem to be his type. Maybe he'll fight another enemy besides Ragnar. Do something to keep his land, title, and bride.

Cool. Curious about the new characters.

At some point next season, Rollo should dance naked on a beach. It was foretold!
